Join us at THE GIVING FIELDS as we Harvest Fresh Produce for Our Neighbors in Need!    Lunch Sponsored by:   TBA

COME PLAY IN THE DIRT with other HealthCare Friends members.  A fun event for the whole family…children and adults alike, make it a family affair! HCF will be soliciting volunteers to join us at The Giving Fields in Saturday, September 17, 2016. The Giving Fields provide produce for 117,000 meals each season. The fruits and vegetables benefit more than a dozen community partner agencies in Northern Kentucky. The agencies are emergency feeding organizations such as food pantries and soup kitchens that work with the Freestore Foodbank to serve the community. As soon as the fresh produce is harvested at the Giving Fields, it arrives at our partner agencies that day–still warm from the sun–literally from farm to table!

The 10 acre community farm is located in 101 Anderson Avenue, Melbourne, Kentucky, 41059– only 10 minutes from Downtown Cincinnati.  Join us as we have a fun time working in the fields in support of the day-to-day operations of the farm. A box lunch will be provided. You are never to old to play in the dirt…no experience necessary! For more information on this event, watch for details here and in your HCF NEWSLETTERS!

THANKS for YOUR SUPPORT…

HealthCare Friends “Sole Patrol” Walked to Stomp Out Hunger!  Memorial Day~~Monday- May 30, 2016  Our team walked, ran, skipped and strolled around and over the Ohio River while we  participate in the Hunger Walk on Memorial Day 2016. This 5K annual run/walk raises funds to support 260 food pantries in our region, which are instrumental in delivering 20 million meals annually. HealthCare Friends raised funds for the Food Room, the FREESTORE FOODBANK’S pantry.  Last year, the Food Room fed 40,000 people, primarily from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky’s urban core. On average, up to 300 people came through the Food Room each day last year!    SPECIAL THANKS to our EVENT CHAIR:  Anne McCarthy, Community Education Specialist-St. Elizabeth Hospital, Wound Care Center  E-Mail: anne.mccarthy@stelizabeth.com
